Failing to properly maintain your hair  investment or find the right hair care system may result is dissatisfaction of the product. Here at The Beauty Boothe we want all of our customers to be happy and feel beautiful while wearing their human wigs and raw human hair bundles. We have put together a few hair tips listed below that will help you maintain healthy hair extensions and get longevity out our your investment.

Hair Care Do’s:

¨     The Beauty Boothe’s hair extension specialist recommends co-washing your human hair extensions once a week in lukewarm to cool water with The Beauty Boothe’s Natural Hydrating Peppermint conditioner. If you are very active, we recommend adding our Natural Hydrating Peppermint Shampoo to your washing routine every other week for deep washes. (This can also be achieved with sulfate-free and alcohol-free products). This will prevent any product, dirt, and sweat buildup from adhering to the hair extensions and the wefts/ wig cap. Assisting the hair in maintaining its natural texture and/or pattern. In addition, to preventing matting or tangling.

¨     The Beauty Boothe’s hair extension specialist recommends allowing your human hair extensions time to full air dry, sun dry or to be dried with a blow dryer on a low setting before use. Air drying and sun-drying your raw human hair extensions are the best options to prevent over-drying, split-ends and achieving longevity with your human hair.

¨     The Beauty Boothe’s hair extension specialist recommends that you use hair curlers or flexi- rods over heating irons and tools to achieve curly and wavy looks and styles.

¨     We recommend that you brush and comb your raw human hair extension from The Beauty Boothe with extreme caution and care. Starting from the very bottom to the top. It’s best to use a wide tooth comb and a detangling brush (even if the hair isn’t tangled, which it shouldn’t if you follow these steps).

¨     The Beauty Boothe’s hair extension specialist also recommends using very light virgin hair oils, serums, and moisturizers to keep your human hair extensions healthy and well hydrated.

¨     Only allow trained and certified hair colorist bleach and dye your hair human extensions.

¨     We recommend securing your raw human hair extensions from The Beauty Boothe in a satin or silk bonnet at night to help prevent the hair from becoming frizzy and tangled.

¨     The Beauty Boothe’s hair extension specialist recommends that you take breaks in between your wears. Taking breaks in between your installs relieves stress from the wefts and allows the hair itself to “rest” without the tension styling.

¨     Lastly, we recommend safely securing your raw hair extension in a satin or silk bag or satin/silk lined box when they are not being used.

Hair Care Don’ts:

¨     Never use wet hair extensions. It is very important that your hair extensions are fully dry from the wefts down to the ends before installing. Installing wet hair weaken the wefts, increases the changes of poor smelling hair, matting, tangling and shedding. In addition, to increasing the chances of getting hair fungus.

¨     Don’t over dry your raw human hair extensions with excessive heat. As heat as long-term damaging effects on our own natural hair. Heat also has the ability to change and/or loosen the hair texture and pattern.

¨     Never use a parting combs, rat tail combs, or small tooth combs to comb through your bundles or wig. This increases the chances of pulling hair from the wefts. Weakening the wefts structure and causing shedding.

¨     Avoid over drenching your human hair extensions in grease and heavy moisturizers. This habit tends to weight down the hair and increase the chances of matting and tangling over time.

¨     Avoid over plucking your wigs and frontals. As over plucking causes continued shedding of the hair piece.

¨     Try to avoid cutting your bundles. As cutting the bundles interferes with the integrity of the wefts. This causes shedding and tangling throughout your wears.

¨     Never save your bundles in plastic bags. Plastic stops the hair from being able to air out and tends to make the hair extremely dull and lifeless.
